It took me one visit to a David's Bridal in PA to find what I was looking for in a wedding gown-but after trying on the mermaid style, I changed my mind and fell in love with a strapless ball gown that I thought was more me.
Now unfortunately I am not able to share pics of my gown at the present time, but it's not because of it being sold. It is currently living at my parents place up in Ontario Canada over 8 hours away from me. I don't think I could ever sell my dress. I have such vivid memories of my cousin Meg's and I trying on our mom's gowns, and one day I think it would be fun for baby K to play dress up in her mothers gown. What little girl doesn't like to dress up in her mom's pretty dress up cloths right. I also would never sell my dress because I am a helpless romantic and have trouble getting ride of anything with any sentimental value. (I had trouble when we sold my hubby's first car, it took us from our dating days till a year after we got married, I still remember how it smelled inside lol)
I will never forget this day, or the few nights leading up to the big day for that matter. Two nights before, my bridesmaids and I crashed my hubby's bachelor party and we all ended up playing man hunt at 9 o'clock at night in a field on Dunbar Road in Cambridge Ontario. Also I didn't end up writing my wedding vows till the night before after our rehearsal dinner party, I was up really late that day.

The one thing I remember most about our wedding day was our first kiss! Yup we did not kiss at all until at the alter in front of everyone lol.
So whats your wedding gown like? do you still have it? do you have a story to tell about your special day? Check out Shasher's Life leave a mr.linky so we can stop by and visit you in the blogging world.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your dress is so pretty! And I'm curious- what made you decide to share your first kiss at the altar?
ReplyDeleteI think EVERYONE thought they wanted a mermaid dress at some point. They just don't look that great on real humans! I love your dress. It's very similar to mine (though mine is much more plain). I love strapless wedding gowns.
ReplyDeleteAnne,
ReplyDeleteWell we did it to help with boundaries and it was just something we felt was right. We wanted to wait to share this special intimate moment on our special day.
It was not the easiest thing to do-if we saw each other face to face more then we did, I think it would of made things a lot harder. We would only see each other once every couple months b/c of where we both lived. Thanks for returning the visit! :)
Merry,
I love strapless gowns too, my maid of honer had a strapless gown as well.
