Oh Canada and a Happy Thanksgiving

11.23.2006

Today is the United States Thanksgiving and I still haven't had any turkey or stuffing, or pumpkin pie or squash..well I did have some squash bisque soup that my mom made but no turkey....how sad is that eh! One of my favorite things about the holidays is the food. Food always seems to taste much better when your sitting around a table full of your friends and family, sharing stories...laughing together. Sooo that's what my Saturday night dinner is going to be. Turkey, pie, stuffing...with my family and friends. Yup we are celebrating our Thanksgiving this year a little late, but its better then not at all. Today was my Hubby and I's travel day. We spend eight, no wait nine hours on the road to get to my parents here in Canada. We did share a special lunch at a cracker barrel that we found open in North PA but I didn't get to enjoy the food as much as I wanted. My stomic has been acting weird the last few days...I start feeling sick and it gets really soar a few minuets after I start eating. I keep praying that what ever the problem is that it goes away before Saturday night. I am so confused by it all because I feel fine the rest of the time...no signs of it being the flu or a cold other then I get tired more quickly as well.
Anyways not only am I excited about being back home in Canada but it is my birthday tomorrow, I will be 23 and my Hubbies birthday is on Sunday he's going to be 24 this year...only one more year till he turns the big 25! 25 is the age that I would like to be when we start our family is we don't get a go ahead from God before. Right now you could say I have 15 kids. Now I don't watch them all by myself I work with two other wonderful teachers but when you are with them for such long periods of time. You grow close to them. I had to spend most of my Wednesday afternoon away from the classroom doing training videos...I learned a lot about working in an early education centre and different things about how children learn as they grow...but I must say when I went back to class at the end of the day I immediately got two big hugs around my knees from two of the little ones and it was a nice feeling. It was almost as if they were saying we knew you were gone..we missed you. Working with kids can be so stressful and a very demanding job, but just like Jesus said children are so precious and we are to all be like little children in our faith and its little moments like unexpected hugs that help you keep a straight head and remind you how much you really do love your job.
