Sickness, Stress and every things a mess?!?

12.13.2010

I want to begin this post by giving all you single moms a big hug.....and a hats off to you.  I really have no idea how you do it.....how strong you must of had to become to tackle such a wonderful, rewarding....yet tiring, crazy never ending cycle of parenting a child or two...or three on your own.

This past weekend was a needed experience in some ways ....but was not a welcomed or wanted experience at the same time.  The stomach bug bit the baby and I and boy where things a wreck.  This is where I re-learned just how blessed and thankful I am to have a husband that is home at the end of the day and on weekends.  How different things would of been if he had not been here to help rock her back to sleep because I was feeling to queasy to move.....had he not been here to watch her tear up the house so Mommy could sleep in.  The hubby was just wonderful and super helpful this weekend...he even went and did  groceries last night by himself.  He gave up any if not all of his own weekend plans to help make us more comfortable in our sickly state.

I feel God also used this weekend to open my eyes to see some other things I've started taking for granted. In the sickness, chaos and mess....I got to experience a slower day to day lifestyle...instead of our normal weekend rush to get this shopping done, this part of the house organized....this picture taken...  I had to learn to be more ok with a less then perfect house...hair and state of dress. I had to let the Hubby have more control of somethings that I just physically couldn't handle at the time that I just love to do myself... food shopping, cooking and cleaning the kitchen {yes I really do enjoy cleaning the kitchen and food shopping  lol.}

 If only it didn't take such extreme experiences to help us remember exactly what we have to be thankful and grateful for!

  1. I hope that you're all feeling better now! It's so hard when sickness hits a family like it did you guys, especially with a little baby in the mix.
