Another Week

10.28.2010

I can hardly believe the week is almost over.  Another week come and gone and in less then a month the Hubby and I will be traveling to Canada, celebrating American Thanksgiving, and celebrating both of our birthdays.  The hubby turns 28 this year.  I was thinking of throwing him a big bash but work, thanksgiving and our trip up north have kinda taken up any chance of that happening. {I'm so sorry...I'll make it up to you sweetheart.... just wait till your 30th birthday....major birthday bash at our place...seriously!!}

So Sunday The Hubby, Baby K and I went apple picking with some great friends of ours.  Never again will I wait till the last weekend in this orchards season to go.  Apples were all over the ground and so few on the tree's.  The apples were also very small in comparison to other years we have gone.  I hate to sound like I'm complaining I guess I'm just very disappointed in myself for putting it off for so long this year.  We did have a good time though. It was Baby K's first experience and the funny thing is she didn't even need me to show her how to eat an apple. After I picked one off the tree I let her hold on to it not thinking anything of it.  Next thing I know crunch and a nice sized piece of apple went missing.  She loved it and went back for more.  Unfortunately without any molars she couldn't handle the skin so I had to stop her rather quickly so she wouldn't choke. {Next year lovey you can eat all the apples right off the tree you want!}

It was so nice to share this experience with some great friends too! We got some great photos of their kids & of course Baby K.

I sure do hope you are all keeping healthy and free of colds and sickness's this time of year.  This whole family of three has been battling colds for a couple weeks now.  As soon as I think we are free and clear...someone has some sort of symptom that pops up. Right now I'm sitting here typing with my feet covered in Vick's vapor rub and multiple sock layers.  I heard its suppose to help ease coughing...and I defiantly need that right now.  I'm about ready to go to the Dr. if this cough doesn't clear up by next Monday. Thankfully Baby K is back to acting  her normal happy, energetic self...she is even back to her normal nap routine...with very little coughing to interrupt it YAY! The hubby was better last weekend but Monday informed me of a scratchy hurting throat....so ready to be finished with this sick business's. I'm sick and tired of being SICK AND TIRED! :)

Well i'm really looking forward to our Canadian trip.  I have not seen some of my family since Christmas last year and it's due time they got to see how much our sweet Baby K has grown.  I'm also excited to see how Baby K handles the 9-10 hour trip.  This will be her first road trip as a toddler and facing a completely different direction in the car.  She is no longer going to be stuck sitting deep inside the infant car seat. YAY!!! She can see the world go by just like us. I'm sure she will just love it.

I did not set this photo up honestly....I was actually on the computer while Baby K played on the floor next to me.  I looked down to see how things were going and this is what I saw.  Do you think she's really putting the two things together.....I like to think so. She's so smart...just like her Daddy!

  2. So glad that a post I wrote could encourage or bless you in a time that you needed it most! Glad to have met another mama blogger!! I'll be checking in. The apple orchard sounds like a wonderful activity to do with your kiddos. I wonder if we have any around here. I bet they are beautiful in the spring too!
